What Stick Does Kaiden Guhle Use?
Spec Check – Kaiden Guhle
The last time we did a spec check on Kaiden Guhle, the Montreal Canadiens’ defenceman had just cracked the Habs roster to open the 2022-23 season, and looked to be a big part of in rebuilding the Canadiens’ future.
Four years later, Guhle is in the middle of a six-year, $5.55 million AAV contract extension that he signed with Montreal in the summer of 2024 and a key cog of the third-youngest roster in the NHL, fresh off an Eastern Conference Final appearance.
The last time we looked at one of Guhle’s sticks, he was still with CCM. He first began experimenting with Bauer in March of 2024, and tried out the Proto-R, HyperLite and HyperLite 2. After finishing that season with the Proto-R, he switched to a Nexus Tracer for the 2024-25 season and is now using the Bauer Pulse 2, but it could very well still be this pulse underneath.
Four years ago, he was using a P28 max height blade on a JetSpeed FT5 Pro, but this stick features a P92 max blade.
Like many young players, Guhle prefers more of a toe hook regardless of position, and the max height blade gives him some extra surface area to win puck battles and knock pucks out of the air.
