Anthony Mantha Stick Spec Check

What Stick Does Anthony Mantha Use?

Spec Check - Anthony Mantha

With 58 points in 75 games it seems as if Anthony Mantha has found a home with the Pittsburgh Penguins. His previous career high was 48 points in 67 games with the Detroit Red wings so he’s already well past having a career year! Anthony’s obsession with white sticks began all the way back in his junior days with the CCM RBZ (one of the all time greats) and continued this trend into his NHL career and even through his switch over to Warrior. He’s had multiple white graphics from Warrior, including the Covert QRE, Alpha QX, LX Pro, Novium Pro, and the Novium 2 Pro. This white and red Novium Pro graphic is from when Mantha was with VGK, but worked out just fine when he was with the Caps and Flames as well. The white graphic isn’t the only unique thing about his stick selection, Mantha is using a pretty niche curve with the P19M. The P19 is a more tame version of the P92, offering a little bit of a shallower pocket. The curve is a perfect mashup of the P92 and the P91. Mantha is a big lad, it only makes sense that his stick mirrors that. He uses a 64” stick and a 95 flex, but with the extended height it will feel closer to an 85 flex if played at full length.

Do you think he uses a white stick to create contrast between his stick and the puck so it's easier to spot in his peripheral vision, or is it purely for aesthetics?

Would you consider using a white stick or is that a bit too flashy?
