What Stick Does Mark Scheifele Use?

Spec Check – Mark Scheifele

Scheifele played a role in the Winnipeg Jets’ record-breaking four goal comeback win over the Montreal Canadiens last night, tallying two assists in what became the latest four-goal comeback win in NHL history.

We did a spec check on Scheifele around five years ago, and that one featured a G3 build with a stock P92 curve and a fairly stiff 95 flex — pretty standard for a 6’3” NHLer.

This time around, we’ve got that same G3 build but dressed up as a Nexus 1N. But perhaps more interesting is Scheifele’s Pro Kovalchuk blade, which has a prominent toe curve.

For what it’s worth, Scheifele has a connection to Kovalchuk, as he was the Jets’ first draft pick after the franchise’s move to Winnipeg from Atlanta.

Scheifele was using the 1N as early as the 2015-16 season, and given the updated graphic on this version, we can safely assume that this was made for him in the 2016-17 season. Scheifele has since switched to a Warrior stick and currently uses the Novium 3 Pro.
