Stick Height

  • Stick height is measured using an industry standard shaft measurement. Shafts are measured from the top of the shaft down the forehand or backhand side of the shaft, and the measurement ends at the bottom of the blade/heel.
  • For reference, stock height Senior Bauer's are 60" and stock height Senior CCMs are 61".
  • Sticks on our website are stock height unless otherwise denoted in the variant description. Sticks that are not stock height will have the shaft measurement following the flex.
  • A stick's total height (top to ground when flat against a wall) measures about 5"-6" longer than the shaft height, but this is impacted by the curve and stick type, so the shaft measurement is generally used to communicate the height industry-wide.

The Blackout line continues to grow, and we now offer 30+ curves across numerous models and flexes, so we always have what you need. As other brands are offering fewer options and higher prices, we are doing the exact opposite. No Frills. Just Performance.

Absolutely love it. I’ve played

"Absolutely love it. I’ve played two games with it so far and some dry land stick handling. When I played high school top end sticks were $260. I can’t justify paying $350 just for men’s league now but I also can’t play with a mid level tree trunk of a stick. This pro black out is perfect. Feels like top of the line, at least what I remember top of the line feeling like for a somewhat reasonable price given the market. Hoping that I can get 2+ men’s league seasons out of it. So far I have no reason to think it won’t last longer than that. Strongly recommend!!"

Awesome Experience, great service!!!

"Great experience. Ordered my stick on-line, the website was very user friendly making the ordering process quite easy. Great selection of sticks/curves and pricing you can’t beat the quality for the price. The stick was delivered within a couple of days from the time I ordered it. Would recommend golf tour looking for great quality at the right price point. 👍"

Great Performance. Sometimes Issues with Durability

"I have been using Pro Blackout Extra Lite Sticks for a number of years now. For the price point: extraordinary puck feel, great pop on my wrist shots and a great stick overall. My one small issue is durability. I find with the low kick point (which is great for a quick release) comes at the cost of durability. Unfortunately I broken my last few Extra Lites EXACTLY at the point of that lower kick point. I just bought a couple of the original Pro Blackouts that have a Hybrid kick point and more weight to hopefully get a little more longevity out of them, while hopefully not having a significant impact on puck feel and performance (reviews on that to come!)."

Great value stick. My son

"Great value stick. My son was pleasantly surprised, perfect length, excellent grip, ideal blade size, and solid flex on his shot. It’s also impressively lightweight, comparable to top Bauer sticks he usually prefers. From a parent’s perspective, the price makes it an easy win."

Guillaume D. (5/5)

So far the stick feels

"So far the stick feels good, it’s light, and it’s responsive. Only played one game with it so far. However, a little concerned with the finish, as it came off with tape as shown in pictures. Hopefully this doesn’t speak to the durability of the stick."

Brett R. (5/5)

Good stick

"Used this stick for about 4 months as my inline stick. The bottom of the blade just cracked. I really liked this stick and am going to buy it again I just wish it lasted a little longer."

Jackson (4/5)

Great stick. Im a big

"Great stick. Im a big fan of the blackout line. Ive mostly used just pro blackout in the past and its been a great consistent stick for me, but the extra light is definitely a step up. Im excited to try the next step up with the prototype when I buy my next stick which will also be from hockeystickman. Customer service is always awesome and ready to help as well."

Scott D. (5/5)

Quick shipping and seems like

"Quick shipping and seems like an all around solid stick. Haven’t been able to use it on the ice yet due to injury but my son loves it so far on the shooting lane."

Ryan B. (5/5)

Stick is light weight, durable,

"Stick is light weight, durable, feels great in the hands and has an amazing release. The flex point is perfect for quick snap shots but high enough where if you want to clap one you can let it go!"

Corey N. (5/5)

Never going to advertise "brand" again!

"They were delivered within days and that was important to me. Quality is there. Super light, after being fully taped top and bottom it still only weighs 425 grams - love it!"

Q&A

Hi, what kick-point would you say these sticks are? High, Mid, or Low?
Hi, The Pro Blackout Extra Lite has a low kick point, while the standard Pro Blackout would have a hybrid mid kick point.
I bought the SPECIAL - Pro Blackout™ (Extra Lite) and at 6' 2" I need to put a 4" extension on it. What brand do I need to purchase to accomplish it?
The Pro Blackout Extra Lite is designed in 85 and 95 flex to come with the extended height. You must have purchased the 70 or 75 flex? We typically encourage customers of that height to go with an 85 flex or higher due to the amount of leverage capacity that you have on the stick already. However, send an email to info@hockeystickman.com and ask if they will send you one at no charge.....might get someone on a good day! - Joey Walsh
Hey there, I see for the P30 Parise the Lie is 5-6. did you happen to know what the actual lie is? the difference between a 5 and 6 is fairly significant for me. THanks!
CCM says that the lie of the P30 is a lie of 6. That curve is based on the Kane pattern with more of a toe pattern. They do not print the lie angle on the sticks. Hope that helps.
I typically play with an 85 flex, cut down to 56" (heel to top). Is there a big difference with a 64" cut down to 56" or would I be better off doing the 75 flex at 60" cut down to 56?
Hi, definitely stick with the 85 flex. The extra length on pro stock sticks should simply be thought of as a bonus. Bottom line is that wherever you cut it will be the same as regular height. Also note that we have 85 flex sticks in stock for Pro Blackouts that are not extended length, and $20 cheaper (if that helps). Joey Walsh
